John was born in 1790 in Hawkins Co.,TN.1 John's father was John Terry and his mother was Esther Brown. His paternal grandparents were William Terry and Rachel Manson. He had eleven brothers and a sister, named Josiah, William, George F., Haden, Elijah, Elisha, J. Elias, Miles, Thomas, Daniel, Jasper and Esther (Easter). He had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named John, William, Elisha, Elias, Thomas, Sally, Esther, Rachel and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 58 on October 16th, 1848 in Bull Bottom,Marion,AR. He was buried in Asa Yocham Cemetery,Marion Co.,AR.1 1 General Notes
