Matilda of Flanders was born in 1032 in Flandre,France.1   Matilda of Flanders' father was Baldwin V, "Le Debonnaire", Count of Flanders and her mother was Adele, Princess of France.  Her paternal grandparents were Baudouin IV, "Le Barbu", Count of Flandre and Otgiva de Luxembourg; her maternal grandparents were Robert II, "The Pious", King of France and Susanna, Princess of Italy. She had four brothers and a sister, named Baudouin VI, Count of Flandre, Robert I, Count of Flandre, Henry, Baldwin VI, Count of Flanders and Judith, Countess of Northumbria.  She died at the age of 51 on November 2nd, 1083 in Caen,Calvados,Normandy,France.1 


Matilda of Flanders' family with William I, "The Conquerer", King of England

‌Matilda of Flanders and William I, "The Conquerer", King of England were married in a religious ceremony about 1053.1   They had four sons and six daughters, named Robert III, Duke of Normandy, Richard, William II "Rufus", King of England, Henry I, "Beauclerc", King of England, Cecily, Abbess of Caen, Matilda, Constance, Adele of Normandy, Princess of England, Gundred, Princess of England and Agatha.
