Mary Ann was born in 1870 in Nash Co., NC. Mary Ann's father was George W. Joyner and her mother was Zaney Ann Lindsey. Her paternal grandparents were Nathan Thomas "THOMAS" Joyner and Amy Land. She had three brothers and two sisters, named William N., Matthew H., Josiah J., S. Anna and Susan A.. She was the third oldest of the six children.-
