* John was born in 1842 in St Erth, Cornwall ENG. * John's father was * Richard Whinnen and his mother was * Peninah Williams. His paternal grandparents were * John Whinnen and * Mary Blight; his maternal grandparents were * James Williams and * Penina Blee. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Edward Blee, Samuel, Joseph Williams, Thomas James, Annie Blee and Elizabeth Annie. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 71 on February 1st, 1913 in Gawler SA.-
