Adam II was born about 1090 in Skelton Castle,Yorkshire,England.  Adam II's father was Robert I Brus Earl of Annandale and his mother was Agnes Pagnel.  His paternal grandparents were Adam de Brus and Emma de Ramsay; his maternal grandparents were Fulk Paganel and Beatrice Fitz William Fitz Ansculf. He had three brothers and a sister, named Robert "Le Meschin", Peter, Pagon and Agatha.  He was the oldest of the five children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Adam I, Robert II "le Meschin", Pagon de, Agatha and Lucy de.  He died in 1143 in Skelton,Yorkshire,England.  He was buried in Priory,Gisborough,Yorkshire,England.1
