Engelbert II was born about 1282 in Katzenelnbogen,Hessen-Nassau,Prussia.  Engelbert II's father was Eberhard I Count Of The Mark and his mother was Irmgard Princess of Berg.  His paternal grandparents were Count Engelbert I of Mark and Kunigunde Von Blieskastel; his maternal grandparents were Duke Adolf VII of Limburg-Berg and Princess Margarete of Are-Hostaden. He had two sisters named Margaret and Kunigunde.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Bishop Adolf of, Count Konrad of, Count Engelbert II of, Princess Margareta of, Princess Irmgard of, Princess Katharina of and Princess Kunigunde of.  He died on July 18th, 1328 in Hessen Nassau,Prussia.1
