His paternal grandparents were Heinrich "Le Noir" III Emperor Of The Holy Roman Empire and Agnes Princess of Aquitaine; his maternal grandparents were Otto Maurienne Graf Savoy Count of Savoy and Adelaida, Contessa di TORINO. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Heinrich V Emperor of The, Konrad King Of The, Agnes and Anna. He died in Bamburg,Germany.1 General Notes

Conrad III, c.1093-1152, emperor and German king (1138-52), founder of the HOHENSTAUFEN dynasty, was set up as antiking to Emperor LOTHAIR II in 1127 but submitted to Lothair in 1135. He was elected king at Lothair's death by those opposing Henry the Proud of Bavaria and his brother Guelph, thereby setting in force the struggle between the GUELPHS AND GHIBELLINES. Conrad was never crowned.
