Philippa was born about 1314 in of Le Quesnoy,Nord,France.  Philippa's father was Guillaume III de Avesnes and her mother was Jeanne de Valois.  Her paternal grandparents were Jean II de Avesnes & Hainault and Philippa de Luxembourg-Maas; her maternal grandparents were Charles de Valois Prince of France and Marguerite Princess Of SICILY & NAPLES. She had three sisters named Margaretha Countess Of, Catherine de and Johanna Countess Of.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died on August 15th, 1369 in Mons,France.


Philippa's family with Edward III, King England

‌Philippa and Edward III, King were married in a religious ceremony in York Minster,York,Yorkshire,England.  They had nine sons and five daughters, named Edward , the Black Prince, Edward "The Black", Lionel, John "Of Gaunt" of, Edmund "of Langley", Thomas , 1st Duke of Gloucester, William of Windsor, William of Hatfield, JOHN of , 1st Duke of Lancaster, Isabella, Mary, Margaret, Joanna of Woodstock and Blanche.
