Walkelin (William) de was born about 1136 in of,Oakham,Rutlandshire,England and his baptism took place in Of Castle,Tutbury,Staffordshire,England.  Walkelin (William) de's father was Robert de Ferrers [EARL OF DERBY and his mother was Margaret Peverel [COUNTESS OF DER.  His paternal grandparents were Robert de Ferrers and Hawise De VITRE; his maternal grandparents were William "The Younger" Peverel [DE NOTTINGHAM] and Avice de Lancaster. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Malcheline de, Isolda, Robert, Hugo, Henry, Petronella de, Agatha de and Matilda.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He died after December 31st, 1189 in of,,Normandy,France.  He was buried before October 21st, 1190 in ,Seige Of Acre,Jerusalem,Palestine.
