Jean De was born about 1195 in Of,Acre,,Palestine.  Jean De's father was Érard II, Count de Brienne Crusader and his mother was Agnès de MONTFAUCON.  His paternal grandfather was Gauthier II Count Brienne; his maternal grandparents were Count Richard II of Montfaucon and Sophia Agnes de Montbéliard-Pfirt.
