Margaret Boyd 
Margaret was born about 1477 in Of,Bonshaw,Dumfriesshire,Scotland. Margaret's father was Archibald Boyd and her mother was Christian MURE. Her paternal grandparents were Robert , 1st Lord Boyd Boyd and Mariota , Lady Boyd Maxwell; her maternal grandparents were Archibald Mure and Isabel Montgomery. She was an only child. She died before August 31st, 1559.General Notes
The battle of Flodden was a carnage of Scotsmen, but one woman, Margaret Boyd, must have suffered a great deal. Her lover, James IV, King of Scots, was killed and so was their son, Alexander. Also, Margaret's husband, John Mure, of Rowallen was killed in that battle.
