John was born about 1249 in Bernard Castle,Gainford,Durham,England.1   John's father was John De Baliol LORD OF BARNARD CASTLE and his mother was Dervorgilla De Galloway.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh De Baliol Lord of Barnard Castle and Cecily De La Fontaine; his maternal grandparents were Alan McDonald De Galloway Lord of Galloway and Margaret of Huntington. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Hugh De, Alexander De, Alan De, William De, Cecilia De, Eleanor De, Mary De, Ada De, Euphemia De, Baliol and Margaret De.  He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children.  He died in Bailleul,Nord,France.  He was buried in St Waast,Bailleul,Nord,France.1 1 


John's family with Isabelle De Warenne

‌John and Isabelle De were married in a religious ceremony about 1280 in Of,Lewes,Surrey,England.  They had a daughter named Cecily.
