DeLeon Douglas was born on May 10th, 1917 in Dixie, Escambia County, Alabama.1 DeLeon Douglas' father was Samuel Jerome Wyrosdick and his mother was Myrtle Mae Douglas. His maternal grandparents were John William Douglas and Margaret Mozelle McNeil. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Stacy Earl, William Everette, Samuel Jerome, Jr., Edna Mae, Carrie Lucille, Ruby Lee, Ruth Gladys and Mozelle Catherine. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.-
