John Hiram was born on November 11th, 1831 in AL.1 John Hiram's father was John DePort Wilson and his mother was Mary Jordan. His maternal grandparents were Jonas Jordan and Elizabeth Elmore. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William Newton, Lawerence M., Thomas Archibald, Archibald, Henry Elmore, Charlotte Eveline, Martha Elizabeth, Mary Frances and Sarah Ann.
