Hugh Griffin was born on July 30th, 1896 in Pell City, AL.1 Hugh Griffin's father was Robert Dillard Spradley and his mother was Ann Lee Cox. His paternal grandparents were Manning C. Spradley and Louisa Delula Chritzberg; his maternal grandparents were Howard Cox and Mary Gann. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Mannon T., Herbert, Henry Casaway, Larry Joseph, Bert, Molly, Millie Corintha, Maude, Minnie Lee and Ola. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 68 in December 1964 in Pell City, AL.1 -
