August 1778 by Thomas Wright & Wife. Previous owner: Charles Spradley
sold the land to Wrights. It was called Mount Pleasant Land. Proved
January 1780 Court.
June 7, 1780 Camden District SC Wills and Administration by Holcom &
Parker. Spradlin, Charles Apt. 65, Pck 2294. Will of ______, Craven
County, ____ to wife Martha, Negroes (named); to son Charles, land
where I now live, 200 acres; to daughter Agnes, feather bed & furniture;
to grandsons David Spradling, negro (named); to daughter Ann #5 sterling;
Henry Wimpey, Exr.; Charles Spradling (CP). Wit: John Wilson, William
Strowd (W), Hamton Stroud (X). Inventory 6 April 1784.
Same source: August 31, 1784. Daniel Aires of said District hath a
claim to this estate and suspects that Charles Spradlin, Jr. is about to
convey away the whole estate..... sd. Charles to appear; in court August
.... 31 Aug. 1784 Dedimus to Charles Pickett, JP to examine Wm Strawd
and Hamton Stroud, 30 Dec. 1783. Warrent to Henry Wimpey, Constable, for
appearance of William Strowd as he has refused to attend to the will, 3
Jan 1784 to William Simmons, James Lahan, Nimrod Mitchell, John Wilson &
Jesse Wilson. Inventory 6 Apr. 1784 by John Wilson, Jas Laugham, Nimrod
Mitchell. We can conclude that he died shortly before April 1784.
JLB Note: While the spelling is not explicitly Spradley, we do know
that there was a Charles Spradley in Kershaw and that he bought items at
the sale of Dillard Spradley's estate plus the mention in the will of
George Brown. See below.

Spradley, Charles He served in the militia as a private and
sergeant under Col. Taylor. In addition, he served under Capt. John
Mills and Gen. Sumter as a sergeant on horseback on an expedition to
Monck's Corner. A.A. 7252; X608.

14, 1786. George Brown, seal. Test: Edward Pigg, Proved by Edward Pigg,
June 3, 1786 before J. Alexander, J.P.
*JLB Note: By this we could conclude that Anes Spradley was a
daughter of George Brown and she had a daughter named Mary since "Polly"
is the nickname for Mary. Also that it may be she had a son named David.
