Nancy Ruth Smith 
Nancy Ruth was born on October 9th, 1892 in AL.1 Nancy Ruth's father was William H. Smith and her mother was Mary Ella Logan. Her paternal grandparents were Patrick, Jr. Smith and Mary N. Palmer; her maternal grandparents were James Alexander Logan and Carrie Angelina White. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Walter, James Cary, William Leonard, Mary Angie, Ida, Ola Catherine and Ella Odessa. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children. Per Ruth Smith's nephew, W. Thurston Beasley, Ruth was very bossy, very
good looking woman, and she married quite well. She handed down her
clothing to her sister Dessie Smith Carver, who was less than
prosperous. Ruth had reddish brown hair. She died from cancer at an
advanced age.
Her husband ran a business during WWII that employed German
prisoners-of-war. Children: Willard, Troy, Blois, were good looking men,
as recalled by their cousin, Ella V. Beasley.
