[coosa1.ged] Funeral For J. O. Sears Held Sunday Funeral for James Owen Sears, 84, of Nacogdoches, were held Sunday in the Cason, Monk Chapel with interment in King Cemetery west of Mt. Enterprise. Officiating was the Rev. E. L. Jones, pastor of the College Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Sears died Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 12, 1886, in Panola County, Mr. Sears was a retired U. S. Postal employee, having been a Star Route carrier. He had lived in Nacogdoches for 25 years and was a member of the Baptist Church, for which he served as deacon for more than 50 years. Mr. Sears was married Oct 7, 1911, and his wife survives him. Other survivors are two sons, O. T. Sears of Utopia and G. T. Sears of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Orum of Nacogdoches; two sisters, Mrs. Pearlie Hudman of Long Branch and Mrs. Ethel Lee of Cushing; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
