James Essie was born on February 17th, 1880 in New Lexington, Tuscaloosa, AL.1 James Essie's father was James Newton Olive and her mother was D. Alabama Logan. Her maternal grandparents were Ellis Logan and Amanda M. Wood. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Roscoe Waits, Vol Vertie, Loyd Clyde, George Decator, Chestor Newton, Buelah Belle and Theo. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 20 on September 9th, 1900 in ?.1 -
