His paternal grandparents were James Miller and Mary Gibson; his maternal grandparents were William A. Foster and Nancy N. Palmer. He had four brothers and eight sisters, named James William, Eddie Warren, Sr., Robert Andrew, Charles Taylor, Alice Elvira, Elvirenia Ellen, Edia Jane, Mary Mandia, Lee Ora, Lillie Narissus, Mattie Beatrice and Irene. He was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 72 on March 8th, 1961 in Clanton, Chilton Co., AL.
