Sorter Eli was born about 1857 in AL.1 Sorter Eli's father was Turner Eldridge Jordan and his mother was Susan Elizabeth Stough. His paternal grandparents were Felix Jordan and Sarah C. Champion; his maternal grandparents were Simeon Thomas Stough and Matilda Petrey. He had a brother and a sister, named Elmore Yancey and Georgia Ann. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named James Felix, William Arthur and Susan. He died in ?.1 -
