Karl McEwen was born on December 20th, 1903 in Wilsonville, Shelby Co., AL.1 Karl McEwen's father was William Jones Jackson and his mother was Ida Lee McEwen. His paternal grandparents were John Ephraim Jackson and Susan Civility (?); his maternal grandparents were Francis Marion McEwen and Lena Olive Ransome Melton. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Terrell Houston, Willliam Spear, John Edgar, Forrest Hosia, Walter Francis, Eunice Nova and Margie Louise. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 67 on March 14th, 1971 in Leeds, AL.1 -
