Sarah Ellen was born on May 9th, 1871 in Lucknow, SC.1 Sarah Ellen's father was Zimmeran Hall and her mother was Rebecca Spradley. Her paternal grandparents were Jefferson Hall and Louisa Matilda Parrish; her maternal grandparents were John Bryant Spradley and Martha Jane M. Smith. She had four brothers and six sisters, named John Jefferson, Margaret A., Quincy G., Lular R., Eledora, Emma, Mary J., Martha L., Flora and Alice L.. She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 71 on January 23rd, 1943 in Lucknow, SC. She was buried in St. Matthew Methodist, Lee Co., SC.1 1 General Notes
