His maternal grandparents were Thomas Rabon Douglas and Fletcher Elizabeth McNeil. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William Lyndal, Alton, Fletcher Rabon, John Ray, Billy Douglas, Verna Louise, Ethel Fay and Living.-
