John Mason Garrett 
John Mason was born on March 22nd, 1849.1 John Mason's father was James C. Garrett and his mother was Evaline Rials. His paternal grandparents were Robert* Jackson, Sr. Garrett and Mary* Ann Clackler; his maternal grandparents were Archibald* Rials and Elizabeth* Green. He had a brother and seven sisters, named Overstreet William, Mary E., Frances L., Nancy Ann, Sallie Susan, Julia E., Annie E. and Sophia L.. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 67 on January 16th, 1917. He was buried in Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Lenox, Alabama.1 1 General Notes
