Her paternal grandparents were Thomas III Elmore and Cecily Ellyson; her maternal grandparents were John Morris and Patience Davis. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John Archer, Judith, Martha and Elizabeth. She had three half-brothers named Jason, John and Ruben.
