Thomas Elmore arrived in the colony by 10 June 1654 when William Beach
secured a patent to 700 acres in Westmoreland County on the south side of
the Potomac River. Later the same year - 25 October 1654 - Thomas Elmore
appeared as a headright, likely illegally, for Beach’s brother-in-law
Capt. Nicholas Martiau for some adjacent land. Ref. Virginia Land Patent

Thurman, I would like very much for you to contact me regarding the
Thomas Elmore married to Rebecca Austin. I am also a descendant of this
Thomas Elmore, but according to all my information, this Thomas Elmore
was an immigrant and came ca:1654 from England. If you are right, then a
lot of people have thier info wrong and it needs to be investigated
further. The first mention of our Thomas Elmore is in the records of
Virginia on June 1o 1654 when Wm. Beach patented 700 acres in Wstmoreland
Co. on the south side of the Potomac River. Beach was able to patent this
land by claiming he was responsible for the transportation of 14 persons
to the colony of Virginia. And this Thomas Elmore was one of them. He
married Rebecca Austin, daughter of James Austin. They had five children:
Thomas, Rebecca, Peter, Elizaeth and Mary. Please contact me regarding
this. Elaina55@@webtv.net Thank You.
