Henry Ellis was born on September 5th, 1914 in Opp, Covington County, Alabama.1 Henry Ellis' father was Marion Ellis Donaldson and his mother was Lizzie Belle Grimes. His maternal grandparents were Joshua English Grimes and Charity Adeline Foley. He had two sisters named Cleone Bessie and Foy Lena. He was the youngest of the three children.
