John Perry was born on June 2nd, 1868 in Hanover, Coosa Co., AL.1 John Perry's father was Rainer B. Dobson and his mother was Harriet Ann Carlisle. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Carlisle and Sarah Harper. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named James Thomas, Rainer Matt, William R., Francis M., George M., Jasper Newton, Edward P., Walter Lee, Martha Francis and Harriet A.. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 75 on January 23rd, 1944 in Coosa Co., AL.
