Benjamin Jordan was born in 1857 in Jasper Co., GA.1 Benjamin Jordan's father was John Bryant, Jr. Castellow and his mother was Amanda Aline Dismukes. His paternal grandparents were John Bryant Castellow and Amy Hill McClendon; his maternal grandparents were John Dismukes and Mary Wilson. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William Franklin, Stephen Thomas, Robert Fleming, John Broadus, Isham Lee, Mary E., Elizabeth Rebecca, Cordelia, Susanah and Anna Vera.
