Cassandra was born in 1864 in Lavaca Co., TX.1 Cassandra's father was Andrew Jackson Castellaw and her mother was Elizabeth Almeda Brown. Her paternal grandparents were James G. Castellaw and Sarah Arnold; her maternal grandparents were John Brown and Arilla G. Castellaw. She had three brothers and five sisters, named George Lee, Henry Thomas, William O. Henry, Henrietta, Abigail, Emma Jane, Louisa Elizabeth and Mary Louise. She was the third oldest of the nine children.-
