Matilda (Maud) was born in 1031 in Flanders, Normandy, France.  Matilda (Maud)'s father was Baudouin V "Pious" Count of Flanders and her mother was Adela (Alix) Capet Princess Of FRANCE , Cts de Contenance. She had four brothers and a sister, named Baudouin VI the Peaceable, Robert I 'le Frison', Robert I of, Baldwin of and Matilda Countess Of. She had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William I, Guy, Henry, Robert, Alix and Elena.  She died at the age of 52 on November 2nd, 1083 in Caen, Calvados, France.  She was buried in Caen, Normandy.


Matilda (Maud)'s family with William I the Conqueror King of England

‌Matilda (Maud) and William I the Conqueror were married in a religious ceremony in 1053 in Eu, France.  They had two sons and three daughters, named Henry I, William II Rufus Normandy, Adela (Alice), Gundrada and Sibylla.
