Joan "of Acre" was born in 1272 in Acre, Hazafon, Palestine.  Joan "of Acre"'s father was Edward I Plantagenet "Longshanks" King O England and her mother was Eleanor Princess of Castile.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry III Plantagenet King of England and Eleanor of Provence; her maternal grandparents were Ferdinand III "The Saint" King of Leon & Castile and Joan de Dammartin , of Ponthieu. She had a brother and two sisters, named Edward II Plantagenet King of, Eleanor and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the four children. She had two half-brothers named Thomas de and Edmund.  She died at the age of 35 on April 23rd, 1307 in Clare, Suffolk, England.  She was buried on April 26th, 1307 in Austins Friars, Clare, Suffolk, England.
