Eleanor was born on June 17th, 1264 in Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, England.  Eleanor's father was Edward I Plantagenet "Longshanks" King O England and her mother was Eleanor Princess of Castile.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry III Plantagenet King of England and Eleanor of Provence; her maternal grandparents were Ferdinand III "The Saint" King of Leon & Castile and Joan de Dammartin , of Ponthieu. She had a brother and two sisters, named Edward II Plantagenet King of, Joan "of Acre" and Elizabeth.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had two half-brothers named Thomas de and Edmund.  She died at the age of 54 in 1318 in Ghent, Flanders now Belgium.  She was buried in Collegiate Church of St Gudule, Brussels, Belgium.
