Frederick I was born in 0965 in Moselgau, France.  Frederick I's father was Count Siegfried IV Of Luxemburg DE CLEVES DE ALSACE and his mother was Edith DE LONGWY Hedwig. He had three sisters named Eve, Luitgarde and Jutta VON LUXEMBOURG.  He was the second youngest of the four children.
