Her paternal grandparents were John 4th Baron de Mowbray , of Thirsk, Sir and Elizabeth de Segrave; her maternal grandparents were Richard III FitzAlan , KG, Earl of Arundel&Surrey and Elizabeth de Bohun. She had a brother and two sisters, named John de, Isabel de and Elizabeth de. She was the second oldest of the four children. She had two half-sisters named Elizabeth and Joan.
