Roger de was born in 1221 in Cwmaron Castle, Radnorshire, Wales.  Roger de's father was Ralph de MORTIMER 2nd Lord of Wigmore and his mother was Gwladys "Ddu" Verch LLEWELYN PRINCESS OF NORTH WALES/PRINCESS OF NORTH WALES.  His paternal grandparents were Roger de MORTIMER LORD OF WIGMORE/LORD OF WIGMORE and Isabel De FERRERS; his maternal grandmother was Joan Princess Of ENGLAND PRINCESS OF WALES. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Hugh, John De, Peter De, Maud, Joan and Isolda De.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 61 on October 27th, 1282 in Kingsland, Herefordshire, England.

‌Roger de and Maud De were married in a religious ceremony about 1247.  They had five sons and four daughters, named Ralph De, Edmund De, Geoffrey De, Roger De, William De, Alicia, Isabella De, Isolde (or Iseude) de and Margaret.
