Sir Maurice de Berkeley was born in April 1281.  Sir Maurice de Berkeley's father was Sir Thomas de Berkeley Lord Berkeley and his mother was Joan de Ferrers.  His paternal grandparents were Maurice de Berkeley Lord Berkeley and Isabel FitzRichard de Dover; his maternal grandparents were William de Ferrers III Earl of Derby and Margaret de Quincy. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, James, Alice, Isabel and Margaret.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 45 on May 31st, 1326 in Wallingford Castle, Berkshire, England.

‌Sir Maurice de Berkeley and Eva were married in a religious ceremony in 1289.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Thomas de Berkeley the Rich, Sir Maurice, Isabel and Millicent "Ela".
