Sir Roger de Mortimer was born on May 3rd, 1287 in of Netherwood, Thornbury, Herefordshire, England.  Sir Roger de Mortimer's father was Sir Edmund de Mortimer Baron Wigmore and his mother was Eleanor (Margaret) de Fiennes.  His paternal grandparents were Roger de Mortimer Baron Wigmore and Maud de Braose; his maternal grandparents were Sir William de Fiennes II Ct de Fiennes and Johanna de Dammartin Cts de Ponthieu. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Hugh, Walter, Edmund, John, Matilda, Joan, Elizabeth and Margaret.  He died at the age of 43 on November 29th, 1330 in Elms, Tyburn, Warwickshire, England.

‌Sir Roger de Mortimer and Joan were married in a religious ceremony before October 6th, 1306.  They had four sons and seven daughters, named Sir Edmund, Roger, Geoffrey, John, Maud, Margaret, Agnes, Joan, Blanche, Beatrice and Katherine.
