Gwladus Ddu "the Dark was born in Gwynedd, Wales. Gwladus Ddu "the Dark's father was Llywelyn Fawr ap Iorwerth Prince of Wales and her mother was Tangwystl Goch verch Llywarch of Rhos. She had a brother and a sister, named Gruffydd ap Llywelyn Fawr and Gwenllian. She had eight half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Tegwared-y-Bais Wen, Dafydd ap Llywelyn Fawr, Howel ap Ednyfed Fychan, Sir Tudor, Kendrig, Llewelyn, Rhys, Iorwerth ap Ednyfed Fychan, Angharad, Elen (Helena), Marared Drwyndon, Angharad and Gwenllian. She died in Windsor, Berkshire, England.
Gwladus Ddu "the Dark and Reginald de Braose were married in a religious ceremony in 1215 in Wales.
