Adelaide was born about 0824 in Tours, Indre-et-Loire, France.  Adelaide's father was Louie I "Le Debonaire" "The Gentle", "The Pious" von Aachen King of the Franks and her mother was Ermengarde Empress Of The West Hasbaye.  Her paternal grandparents were Charlemagne Empire of the Holy Roman King of the Franks and Fastrada; her maternal grandparents were Count Ingeramne De Hesbaye and Landree De Herbauges. She had three brothers named Emperor of the Franks Lothair I, Louis II and Pepin I. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Charles II and Gisela.
