Isabella was born about 1180 in Angouleme, Charent, France.  Isabella's father was Count of Valence & Angouleme Aymer De Taillefer Count of Valence & Angouleme and her mother was Alice De Courtenay.  Her paternal grandparents were Count of Angouleme William IV De Taillefer Count of Angouleme and Marguerite De Turenne; her maternal grandparents were Pierre Prince of France and Isabelle De Courtenay.  She was an only child.  She died on May 31st, 1246 in Fontrevault Abbey, Fontrevault, Maine-et-Loire, France.
