Margaret was born about 1365 in Essendine, Rutland, England. Margaret's father was Edward DESPENCER BARON DESPENSER and her mother was Elizabeth De BURGHERSH BARONESS DESPENSER. Her paternal grandparents were Edward DESPENCER and Anne FERRERS; her maternal grandparents were Bartholomew BURGHERSH Baron Burghersh and Cicely De WEYLAND BARONESS BURGHERSH. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Edward, Phillip, Hugh Le, Thomas Le, Cicely, Anne, Elizabeth and Phillippa. She was the fourth youngest of the nine children. She died on November 3rd, 1415. She was buried in Merevale Abbey, Merevale, Warwwickshire, England.-
