Bartholomew was born in 1329 in Of Burghersh, Sussex, Eng. Bartholomew's father was Bartholomew BURGHERSH Lord Burghersh and his mother was Elizabeth VERDON. His paternal grandparents were Robert BURGHERSH and Margaret BADLESMERE; his maternal grandparents were Theobald De VERDUN BARON OF VERDUN and Matilda (Maud) De MORTIMER. He had a brother and three sisters, named Henry, Elizabeth, Maude De and Joan. He was the youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 40 on April 5th, 1369 in Walsingham.-
