Eleanore de was born in October 1292 in Caerphilly Castle, Caerphilly, Glamorganshire, Wales.  Eleanore de's father was Gilbert "the Red Earl" de CLARE EARL OF GLOUCESTER & HERTFORD and her mother was Joan "of Acre" of ENGLAND COUNTESS OF GLOUCESTER & HERTFORD.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard de CLARE EARL OF GLOUCESTER and Maud de LACY; her maternal grandparents were Edward I "Longshanks" King Of ENGLAND and Leonor Princess Of CASTILE AND LEON QUEEN OF ENGLAND. She had a brother and three sisters, named Gilbert de, Elizabeth de, Margaret de and Elizabeth de.  She was the second oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Thomas, Edward, Isabel, Isabel De and Mary de.  She died at the age of 44 on June 30th, 1337 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England.  She was buried in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England.
