Maud de was born about 1223 in Of, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England.  Maud de's father was John de LACY Earl of Lincoln and her mother was Margaret De QUINCY Countess of Lincoln.  Her paternal grandparents were Roger De LACY and Maud (Matilda) De CLARE; her maternal grandparents were Robert De QUINCY and Hawise De MESCHINES COUNTESS OF LINCOLN. She had a brother and a sister, named Edmund De and Idonea De.  She was the oldest of the three children.

‌Maud de and Richard de were married in a religious ceremony on January 26th, 1238 in Of, Lincolnshire, England.  They had four sons and five daughters, named Gilbert "the Red Earl" de, Thomas de, Bevis (Bogo) (Benet) De, Robert (Richard) De, Isabel De, Margaret De, Maud De, Roese (Rohesia) De and Eglentine De.
