Isabel De was born in May 1240 in Of, Tonbridge, Kent, England. Isabel De's father was Richard de CLARE EARL OF GLOUCESTER and her mother was Maud de LACY. Her paternal grandparents were Gilbert de CLARE EARL OF GLOUCESTER and Isabel MARSHALL; her maternal grandparents were John de LACY Earl of Lincoln and Margaret De QUINCY Countess of Lincoln. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Gilbert "the Red Earl" de, Thomas de, Bevis (Bogo) (Benet) De, Robert (Richard) De, Margaret De, Maud De, Roese (Rohesia) De and Eglentine De. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 31 in 1271.-
