Elizabeth de was born on September 16th, 1295 in Tewkesbury, Gloucester, England.  Elizabeth de's father was Gilbert "the Red Earl" de CLARE EARL OF GLOUCESTER & HERTFORD and her mother was Joan "of Acre" of ENGLAND COUNTESS OF GLOUCESTER & HERTFORD.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard de CLARE EARL OF GLOUCESTER and Maud de LACY; her maternal grandparents were Edward I "Longshanks" King Of ENGLAND and Leonor Princess Of CASTILE AND LEON QUEEN OF ENGLAND. She had a brother and three sisters, named Gilbert de, Eleanore de, Margaret de and Elizabeth de.  She was the third oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Thomas, Edward, Isabel, Isabel De and Mary de.  She died at the age of 65 on November 4th, 1360.  She was buried in St Mary, Aldgate, London, Middlesex, England.
