Sir Robert de Holand III was born about 1312. Sir Robert de Holand III's father was Sir Robert de Holand II Baron Holand and his mother was Maude la Zouche. His paternal grandparents were Sir Robert de Holand and Elizabeth de Samlesbury; his maternal grandparents were Alan de la Zouche Lord Zouche of Ashby and Eleanor de Segrave. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Sir Thomas de Holand, Alan, Otho, Alianore, Isabella, Margery, Elizabeth, Margaret, Maud and Mary. He died in Halse or Hawes, Brackley, Northamptonshire.General Notes
Sir Robert Holand, 2nd baron, summoned to parliament from 25 February, 1342, to 6 October, 1372. This nobleman was engaged for several years in the French wars of King Edward III, part of the time under Thomas de Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick, and the remainder in the retinue of his brother, Thomas Holland. His lordship d. in 1373, leaving his grand-dau (dau. and heir of his eldest son Robert, who had predeceased him), Maud Holland, then seventeen years of age, his sole heir, who m. John Lovel, 5th Lord Lovel, of Tichmersh, and carried the Barony of Holland into that family.
