Sir Nicholas de Segrave was born in 1238 in Seagrave, Leicestershire, England.  Sir Nicholas de Segrave's father was Sir Gilbert de Segrave II and his mother was Annabilia de Chaucombe.  His paternal grandparents were Stephen de Segrave Constable of the Tower and Rohese le Despenser; his maternal grandparents were Sir Roger (Robert) de Chaucombe and Julia (de Chaucombe). He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Roger and daughter.  He died before November 12th, 1295.

‌Sir Nicholas de Segrave and Matilda (Maud) were married in a religious ceremony in 1255.  They had four sons and a daughter, named John de Segrave, Sir Nicholas, Sir Henry, Stephen and Eleanor.
